Holiday MisadventureThe blades of the air conditioner rattled violently as the device started, the machine was at least several decades old as shown by the rusting metal and flaking paint work. Yet just as the motor revved to life, it died a sudden death as internal components failed to work, the spluttering sounds signaling its demise. Lottie frowned as she eyed the broken machine, sweeping her long slick brown hair from her attractive face. It was easily over thirty five degrees and extremely humid, that air conditioner was her only comfort against the oppressive conditions. The young woman had worked hard for this holiday to Indonesia, but her stay had been compounded by the theft of one of her bags, the loss of her phone and now this. At least she still had her health and her purse, she smiled to herself knowing it was not the end of the world.
